Timber

Redwood Timber – Specifically graded for your end use.

We have many years experience importing redwood from Scandinavian & Eastern European sawmills.

Only selected trees are felled in the forest. The logs are sawn to many sizes and kilned with care to minimise shake. We import the traditional grades of unsorted and 5ths.

At our premises we grade the redwood for specific end use to minimise waste. Our unique grade 1 is the best quality we produce and has to be seen to be fully appreciated.

Our grade 1 reduces waste to less than 2-3%

Whitewood Timber – Wide sizes for bespoke joinery

We import and supply sawn and planed wide whitewood for bespoke joinery, shelving and stair manufacturing.

Large logs are selected at the sawmill for quality before being sawn into wide boards

The boards are carefully kilned to minimise cracking before being machined

The wide boards are then planed square cornered or nosed & grooved, packaged and wrapped ready for shipment to R H Wilson (Lakes).

When the wide whitewood boards arrive at Kirkby Stephen, we further grade and select the pieces ready for making into orders.

Hardwood Timber – For Joinery Use

To complement the redwood and whitewood, which we supply nationwide, we also import hardwood from Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. This we can deliver at the same time.

We supply hardwood in its ORIGINAL sawn sizes by the piece or pack from our storage in Kirkby Stephen, or by trailer load direct from the sawmill.

The main species we have available:

  • African Hardwoods — Sapele, Iroko, Utile, Idigbo
  • European Hardwoods — Oak, Beech, Ash
  • North American Hardwoods — White Oak, White Ash, Poplar
  • Exotic and Tropical Hardwoods — Mahogany, Bubinga, Wenge

With many years experience of importing hardwoods, we can supply specific species for bespoke joinery, windows & doors, bar & shop-fitting, furniture, flooring, gates, marine construction, etc.
